Seven Deadly Sins of Beauty

I saw this post on the lovely Jasmine and Kelsey's blogs and although I wasn't tagged, I thought it would be a fun one to do! And I thought this would be a fun view into a tidbit of my beauty stash.

GREED | What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?

My most inexpensive item would have to be the E.l.f. Studio Contouring Blush & Bronzer. I kept reading that this was a great dupe for NARS Orgasm & Laguna duo. I remember I tried NARS Orgasm a few years back and thought it was much too shimmery for my taste, and with that I returned it. Fast forward a few years, and I now find the E.l.f. blush is a lot less shimmery, which is right up my alley. Compared to the NARS counterpart which costs $40, I had no hesitations picking this up for $3 - the quality of the blushes are fine and for the low price tag I really have no complaints. It's not a palette I constantly reach for, but I love popping on the blush for Spring and Summer.

My most expensive item would have to be the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar & Bronze Glow. This was definitely one of those treat yourself moments, and there was a free gift deal at Nordstrom - why not? This palette is absolutely beautiful, from the rose gold packaging to the rounded edges of the makeup pans. This definitely sits on top of my makeup drawer to use every morning. I also think it'll be perfect to take on trips - no mirror, no problem - this palette has a huge mirror which is perfect for vacation!

WRATH | What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with? What product has been the hardest to get?

I definitely have a love hate relationship with my liquid eyeliner. I've been alternating between two, the Stila Stay All Day Eyeliner & the Kat Von D Trooper Eyeliner. Although both are able to give a sleek, black line, I sometimes struggle with a lack of pigmentation. When I first use a new pen, it takes multiple times for me to re-line my eyes as not enough product comes out. But once it's well loved, application is a dream.

I think the hardest items for me to get my hands on have been the Burberry eyeshadow in Pale Barley (gorgeous), the MAC lip liner in Soar, and the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Patina. All of these items are ones that I would walk by counters each time I went in to see if it was in stock - and for many months it was always a negative. Fortunately (and unfortunately for my wallet) I was able to pick all three of these up in the past month. And you can bet that I snatched these up right away, and I have no regrets

GLUTTONY | What are your most delicious beauty products?

The Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments are hands down my "most delicious" beauty products, I love these lippies and will never stop buying them. There are so many shades to choose from, and as a tinted lip balm they're extremely easy to use for everyday wear with low maintenance. These have a sweet sugary scent and I don't feel bad if I happen to lick my lips and eat some of the product (we're all guilty of doing it).

SLOTH | What beauty products do you neglect due to laziness?

I definitely skimp on lotion - this is a pretty terrible thing for me to do as I have extremely dry skin and I definitely don't drink enough water. It's one thing I'm trying to get in the habit of, especially for the sake of 20-years from now me. A few months back I picked up the Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm and it has a lovely scent, it has definitely given me an added touch of motivation to moisturize my hands more often.

PRIDE | What beauty products give you the most self confidence?

For me I focus most of my makeup on my eyes, and when I'm going for a night out I love to layer on a bold winged eyeliner with a pair of false eyelashes. I'm pretty fortunate to have long lashes so on a daily basis a quick curl and coat of waterproof mascara is good enough to keep my eyelashes lookin' fly all day. But when I really want to pack on a punch I love to throw on a pair of falsies to give a real wow effect.

LUST | What products are you currently lusting after?

I've been pretty bad about buying makeup the last few months and think I should go on a mini shopping ban cosmetics wise - I've been taking the "treat yourself" idea all too much. However, I've been eyeing the Zoeva Rose Gold face brush set for the longest time and think it may be time to bite the bullet. I don't own too many face brushes and it would be more cost effective for me to buy these rather than buy individual brushes from other brands. I've also been eyeing the Sunday Riley face oils, specifically Artemis and Luna as I've heard nothing but high praises on these oils. However, I am hesitant to buy these as they have a rather strong and pungent smell. I walked into a Sephora to test these out on my hand and the smell was indeed a bit strong, I put some on my boyfriend's hand and let's just say that he was not a fan - he quickly tried to use other cleaners to get the smell off haha. Not to mention the fact that these cost an arm and a leg. I've recently went to Sephora to grab samples of both oils and will be giving these a go, hopefully we'll see if the rumors are true and if I can stand the smell long-term.

ENVY | What items would you most like to receive as a gift?

I would love to receive the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipsticks, they aren't available in the U.S. just yet, but you can bet that I'll be asking for these come Christmas time. I love everything I've seen so far about them, from the rose gold packaging, the unique shape of the lipstick bullet, and the wide variety of shades from nudes, to pinks, to darks. So many options to try and I'm so excited.

I tag Hao of haodoyoungoMiriam of A Whole Lot of Serendipity, Sofia of Pale Lily, and Celina of The Celution to do this tag!

As well as any of you reading that feel like doing so. Let me know so I can read through too!

Cheers!
