Monthly Favorites | S E P T E M B E R

Welcome to #CHYtober! Or #blogtober! Well, whatever you want to call it, welcome to daily weekday postings for the entire month of October. Let's start off by talking about my favorites over the last month +. I did try a few new products but I also reached for a few old products. I'm trying my best to use up products that I already have and clear up some space in my surrounding areas.

If you read my post on the recent 'Worth The Hype' post (here) on the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit in Surreal Light, you could see that I was pretty disappointed in the packaging and pigmentation of the palette. I did start using my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Palette which I picked up last year during the Sephora VIB sale (here) which is still one of my favorite products to date.

I started reaching for my Tarte Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation as this is in a darker shade for me that is best worn when I have a tan. As much as I'm loving it, I'm hoping to find something a bit more lightweight as my skincare regime lately has been pretty ace and my skin has been feeling extremely great as of late. And I'm not feeling like I need/want something so full-coveraged.

Jumping right into skincare, I'll start with the Glossier Supers which, unless you live under a rock, you have probably seen all over social media. I ended up opting for the trio of the Supers as I couldn't decide on just one. I'm pretty glad I chose all three as I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have seen the results of all three combined if I had just opted for the one. I'll do a full review on all three soon enough, but for sure these are firm favorites in my books. I've been pairing Super Pure and Super Bounce at night to help my skin repair overnight, and reaching for Super Glow in the morning under my daytime moisturizer for an added touch of glow. If you're interested in giving these a go, here's a link to get 20% off your first purchase! I would highly recommend getting the trio set as they're absolutely perfect when used together.

On the lips I've been going pretty light as September was a hot hot hot month. In my Korean beauty haul with YesStyle (post here), I received the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask which has become such an essential in my books. It has left me with soft, plump lips and I really didn't feel as though I needed much else on the lips. In an effort to use up products, I left my Dior Addict Lip Glow in Pink in my handbag which I'm *hopefully* nearing the end of soon. If you follow me on Instagram, you'll have seen me post a story a few weeks back saying I wouldn't purchase a new lip product until this one was finished. Aside from the Kat Von D 'Project Chimps' Everlasting Liquid Lipstick, I've been holding up pretty well. I'm still shocked when I see others finish lip products so quickly as I'm absolute crap at it. But paired with the Laneige mask, my lips have been so soft, plump, and pink and that's pretty much all I could want for that healthy glow.

The last one on the list is the Milk Makeup Dry Shampoo which I mentioned in my little trial of Milk Makeup products hereI was surprised to find that this product was my favorite of the bunch as I'm not usually too keen on dry shampoos. This one has a light, clean scent and doesn't leave my hair feeling gritty or dirty - just fresh with a touch of added volume. I'm possibly a dry shampoo convert

On the non-beauty front, I've been quite smitten with a new YouTuber - sunbeamsjess. I'm not too sure how I came across her channel, but I sure am glad that I did. She's been around for a little while, but I've only just come across her videos. Jess (or Jessie) is a bit unlike any other YouTuber/Vlogger that I've watched but that's not a bad thing at all. She has a passion for travel, a luxe taste for fashion, is quite studious and a bookworm, and overall just a very grounded person. She goes to school, she has regular friends, and doesn't get swept up in the whole YouTube life which is actually quite refreshing. I started watching her second channel (extrasunbeamsjess) where she posts the occasional daily vlog, travel vlog, and monthly vlogs and after watching her travel vlogs I'm pretty sure the travel bug in me is itching to come out. She's joining in on Vlogtober so now is the perfect time to jump in and start watching! (Although I would recommend binge watching her old vlogs - they're quite relaxing to watch. She has the most soothing voice!)

That's a wrap for this month's favorites! I hope you guys are excited for all the post to come because I'm actually quite pleased with the posts I've taken photos of / started drafting so far. Also have a few exciting things coming up this month so this should be
