Quick Lip Product Gift Guide

Welcome to Blogmas Day Two! (Do I sound like a vlogger? Cause I'm reading it out loud all cheery and happy like one.) I'm so excited for this weekend because I'll have all the vlogmas videos to binge watch! For my first official post of blogmas I thought I'd do a little lip product gift guide. I think it's pretty clear I love lip products of all sorts, even if I don't wear them everyday. Here are some of my favorite products that I personally think would be great gifts to give to a lipstick-loving loved one.

The Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments are some of my favorite lip products and I feel I haven't mentioned them in a long time. One of my first posts on this blog was dedicated to this lip line - nostalgia is real. I do think a lot of them may be nearing the end of their shelf life, but they're extremely comfortable on the lips. I'm more drawn to the neutrals and Honey and Plum rank high as my two favorites. (I'm dying - I just found out Plum is being discontinued?! Why do companies always do this to me.) These are the type of lip products I can apply without a mirror and know I won't look ridiculous. They're nourishing and leave my lips looking and feeling soft for hours after application. I am tempted to pick up either the Advanced Lip Therapy or Original (Untinted) Lip Treatment for those lazy days (aka most days).

On the luxe side I've gotta say the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipsticks are a dream to have. Who doesn't want a little rose gold lipstick in their collection? I have 3 shades: Bond Girl, Very Victoria, and Glastonberry. They're all very wearable shades and the first two actually permanently live in whichever bag I'm using. They're long wearing on the lips and although matte, they're relatively moisturizing and not at all drying or uncomfortable.

Kat Von D make some of my favorite liquid lipsticks around. They're lightweight and comfortable on the lips. I also like that the tubes are slimmer which make them easy to slip into my purse. Other liquid lipsticks often come in thicker tubes which can be a bit more bulky in bags (I'm looking at you Anastasia, Stila, and Kylie). Below is my favorite duo from Kat Von D - Bow n' Arrow & Trooper Tattoo Liner. I know these are both full size, but if you're new to the brand or gifting to a beauty lover, Sephora is currently offering a Mini Duo of my two favorites!

I think if you're going to surprise a friend or loved one with a new lip color, it's safe to go with a neutral color. Going with a bold color could be a recipe for disaster - what if it clashes with their skin tone? What if it doesn't compliment their hair color? What if it's a color way outside of their comfort zone that they never reach for it? Trust - go for the neutrals and it should be a great fail safe way to get one they'll like. TBH, the 90's lipstick shades typically look great on everyone. When in doubt, see what types of shades they like to wear (if they do at all) and go from there!

I have lots of blog prep to do this weekend and I'm pretty excited! I got a new lens recently (a nifty fifty if I may) and I'm quite excited to play around with it.

Have you entered my giveaway?

If you didn't know, I'm hosting a giveaway on my blog for the holidays! I'll be giving away an Anastasia Beverly Hills highlight palette in Sun Dipped (palette review here).
