Travel To: Napa, California

Valentine's Day/Weekend was last weekend but like I noted, my boyfriend and I weren't planning to do anything. I toyed with the idea, but he brought me back to reality and pointed out just how busy it would be. We ordered tacos from a truck and chowed down in front of a good ol' Netflix movie. No complaints.

My best friend and I decided to go to Napa this past weekend as it probably would not be as crowded - we were right. We took (read: dragged) our boyfriends along with us and made a quick day trip up to Napa. We live in the Bay Area so we're about 2ish hours south of wine country. Since turning 21 I've been to Napa pretty much every year, so I'd like to say I somewhat know my way around. We know our favorite winery and are up for trying new ones here and there. This year was more apparent that my taste in wine has significantly changed. From the first few times when I only wanted sweet/dessert wines, I'm now quite fond of white wines as well as select reds. If you aren't a fan of wine, just give it time and maybe you'll be a fan too.

Now I. Love. Brunch. Is there even anyone out there that doesn't? It's one of my weekend guilty pleasures, and one that my boyfriend enjoys partaking in. Although it induces a huge food coma so we try out best to limit the number of brunches we go to. But when in Napa, right? We looked up a brunch place on the way up and came across.

In sum: cornbread with lavender honey butter, chilaquiles, eggs benedict, and bagel w/ cream cheese & lox.

I'll let the photos speak for themselves.

And then on to the wine!

The weather has been beautiful in California lately and I have been loving every minute of it. Napa in the Winter is just as lovely as it is in the Summer. (If not better without the 100+F weather.)

Have you ever made it to Napa? If not, do you have a wine country somewhere near where you live?
