Take 5 | Natural Glowy Skin
I've been quite lazy with my skin lately, but mostly because I've been into a low-key, glowy, dewey, sun-kissed look. The sun is out and I'm not so subtly chasing that wunderlust, travel induced glow. I'm also trying to make a real effort to switch in and out my makeup stash so I've placed some new players out on the top shelf.
First up is the Kiehl's Daily Reviving Concentrate which I recently picked up at Nordstrom during a one-on-one facial session. I always love how night oils leave my skin feeling in the morning, so I'm more than excited to introduce a daytime oil into my skincare routine. I had been quite curious about this particular product and after seeing how glowy this left my skin I was sold. This contains sunflower botanical oil which helps to improve the skin's smoothness, texture, and hydration. It also contains Tamanu Botanical Oil which helps to reduce the appearance of damage and replenish and sooth skin. I use 3-4 drops in the morning and pat it into my skin and let it sink in while I do my hair.
I then go in with a moisturizer of some sort. I'm currently using my TooFaced Hangover Primer as it doubles as a primer and a moisturizer in my books. I've also been rotating this in and out with my Origins GinZing moisturizer which I picked up during my recent Sephora VIB haul. I particularly love that this TooFaced primer has a pump and cap so it makes it quite easy to bring with me when traveling. It's hydrating without being oily and helps to keep my makeup apply evenly and look great throughout the day. Not to mention it smells like coconuts and who doesn't enjoy that?
I've been alternating between a few foundations and desperately trying to finish up my Laura Mercier Smooth Fluide Foundation, and I think I'm finally getting down to the final drops. However, the Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Youth Boosting Perfect Skin Foundation has been doing a splendid job at helping me achieve that glowy, sun-kissed look. The foundation claims to illuminate, smooth, hydrate, minimize pores, and reduce wrinkles - and I can agree with pretty much most of that. And in combination with the Kiehl's concentrate and TooFaced primer, these are my current go-to trio picks.
As much as I love the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Palette, I'm a bit hesitant to see any of them hit pan and I am starting to see little divots so I thought I'd work on finishing up my mini-size Dim Light pan. Dim Light is a natural peach beige powder that gives a blurred, photoshopped look while leaving your skin with a soft ethereal glow of some sort.
And as much as I love my Becca Highlight in Moonstone, I thought it'd be wise to try and use more of my TopShop Glow Highlight as it is a cream product and has an earlier expiration date. Sadly I brought this up with me to Davis, CA for a day where it was a whopping 88F and the product melted and solidified at an angle lol. I've been dabbing this along my cheekbones, nose, and cupid's bow to add an ultra glow to top off my already glowing skin. The cream product definitely adds for a dewier effect.
