Brand Focus: DedCool

As some of you may know, I've recently started writing for Yahoo Beauty Canada. One of the recent posts I did was on cruelty free brands to look out for, and one brand in particular was DedCool The brand is based out of Los Angeles, California which is quite close to home. I sent Carina, the founder of DedCool, a link to the post and she was kind enough to offer me some products to try.

The brand is completely unisex which makes it perfect for sharing with your boyfriend / girlfriend / mom / dad / brother / sister / etc. Basically - anyone. DedCool currently has two scents, 01 and 02, with more to come in the Summer. I'm absolute crap at describing scents so I've included a snippet from the site which lists the notes found in the perfumes. Oddly I thought I would love 02 as I'm usually fond of musk-y scents, but I actually found myself a bigger fan of 01. It's warming and just felt like a great pick for Spring/Summer.

FRAGRANCE 01 NOTES
TOP: BERGAMOT, FRESH DEW | MIDDLE: FLORAL, CASSIS | BOTTOM: VANILLA, AMBER

FRAGRANCE 02 NOTES
TOP: JUNIPER | MIDDLE: GREEN FLORAL, SHEER WOODS, PATCHOULI | BOTTOM: LEATHER, SANDALWOOD, MUSK

This was my first dabble in cruelty-free fragrances and I must say that I am extremely impressed. The scent lasted on me all day, and all I did was spray on my wrists and dab on my neck and behind the ears. I didn't douse myself in it but the scent was definitely there and lingering.

DedCool has hand creams in two scents - vanilla and cocovanilla. I'm quite picky about hand lotions as I don't want something overly oily but I need it to do the job. This one definitely does the job. However I will admit I'm not the biggest fan of the scent, but that's mainly because I like natural scents more. Floral/fruity scents are more my style rather than vanilla and coconut. But if you love the latter types of scents, these lotions may be just the thing for you!

DedCool is pretty much a brand for any of you out there looking to go cruelty free, with the added touch of all the bad assery out there. If you're looking for products with the cool chic vibe, this is the brand to try. Keep up to date with DedCool and all it's upcoming products by following along on Instagram

PS - DedCool is blogger friendly! Feel free to DM Carina on Instagram or email her to discuss any possibilities of a collaboration!
