Minimal Makeup for Summer
Summer is near and with it the laid back summer vibes. All the schools around me are out for the summer and with that, my morning commute to work has been cut in half. I wake up much later and if I can cut down my makeup routine I can sleep in even longer. No longer are the days when I was younger and I could wake up between 10AM-12PM every day. I'll settle with my current minimal makeup foundation which keeps me feeling fresh faced.
If you can't tell, a lot of my current makeup picks are pulled straight from my UK Beauty Haul (read here). The Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum foundation has been a go-to as it is lightweight on the skin and gives light coverage to balance out the redness and unevenness in my skin. I dust on a bit of the Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot Powder to help remove unwanted shine from my T-Zone area. I then go in with the Soap & Glory Solar Powder in a figure-3 motion to help give a natural sun-kissed glow to my complexion.
On the eyes I've been reaching back for an oldie but goodie, the MAC Paint Pot in Groundwork. It's a neutral soft brown that adds a bit of depth into my eyes without being too overdramatic or overdone. I then go in and line my eyes with the Bobbi Brown Gel Liner in Caviar. I go in with my trusty Kevyn Aucoin Eyelash Curler to pump up my lashes to help open my eyes. I apply my all-time favorite mascara which is the Tarte Lights, Camera, Splashes Mascara. This adds so much volume and length and nothing really quite compares.
To top off the entire look I'll go in and frame my face by touching up my brows. I've been loving the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo. This gives a lot more control in how much pressure you use to apply, changing how dark or light your brows come off. Also there is just so much product that I don't see myself using this up any time soon.
