Sephora VIB Haul | Fall 2017

As the years have gone by, my taste in acquiring products has changed ever so slightly. As seen from my previous VIB hauls (1, 2, 3), my posts used to be more heavily makeup geared. Over the years, I've definitely switched more towards skincare with the occasional lip product. For the most part this holds true. I'd say I've acquired very few makeup products over the last year and a half, as I've been focusing in a lot more on skincare and haircare. It takes me ages to get through products, especially makeup, so I try to be more strategic and mindful (consumer-wise) about it.

So let's start off with the main products I picked up this season. I've pretty much loved everything I picked up from Tatcha so I decided to pick up some full sized pieces. I actually snagged two of these from the Tatcha Friends & Family sale (as one was constantly out of stock at Sephora). I picked up the Tatcha Silken Pore Perfecting Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 35 and the Indigo Soothing Silk Body Butter. I have a mini of the sunscreen which I used on a recent trip and re-fell in in love with it. I had a few samples of the body butter and loved how it sunk into my skin. As I've been trying to focus and care for my body more, I thought this was the perfect treat. Another splurge I took was The Essence Plumping Skin Softener - I had tried a mini sample of this way back when and loved it. But since it was my first dabble with essences, I decided I'd try a less pricey one first. I ended up going with one from MISSHA but felt a bit underwhelmed by it. As I loved pairing the Tatcha Essence with the Drunk Elephant TLC Framboos Night Serum, I thought it would be perfect timing to pick it up as I snagged the DE set during the Sephora Friends & Family sale.

I've been on the search of a good eye cream and when both Jewlie and Sofia mentioned the Youth to the People Age Prevention Superfood Eye Cream in their recs, I decided to snag it up for myself to try. I love how minimal and compact this one is and the consistency of it looks good - seems like a good no fuss product. This one was perfect for fine lines, wrinkles, dryness, and loss of firmness. As I'm getting older - these are all things that ticked off my eye cream wish list. I did recently see some recommendations for the Aesop Eye Cream so if this one is a bust, I may head in that direction instead.

My Kevyn Aucoin Eyelash Curler has seen better days and it's a bit beaten up now. I thought about looking for replacement pads, but then I just swooned over the Surratt Relevée Lash Curler which has been on my love list for a while now. I also didn't love how the KA curler photographed and wanted one that was black as I think it suits my photography style more (lol - shallow blogger reasons). I used to have the Bobbi Brown one which I loved for years, but I'm just branching out to try more styles. I'll keep you guys posted how I like this one!

On the topic of makeup - that's actually where the rest of my haul went. I am working on clearing out my makeup collection and with it my heavy collection of unused eyeliners. I really only use a dark dark brown liner with a tiny cat-eye flick at the end. Since I finished up most of my dark brown eyeliners recently, I decided to pick up a backup for when my current liner runs out. I snagged the Urban Decay Demolition Eyeliner as it was one of my favorites a few years back. On the topic of eyes, I've been wanting to mix up my eye makeup looks a bit more - starting with some eyeshadows. One of my all time favorite eyeshadows has to be Burberry Pale Barley. I've been oohing and ahhing over the Burberry Wet & Dry Silk Shadow in Almond and am so excited that it's now mine. I have a very minimal amount of eyeshadows and try my best to steer clear of palettes as I usually end up using one or two shades only.

As I've been pretty minimal with my makeup, I've also been going sans foundation for nearly half a year now. My all time favorite foundation has to be the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, and I had wanted something that was lightweight but a tad bit more coverage than the Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint. A few months back I had tested the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer and liked how it wasn't as drying as the NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint. This one has probably been in and out of my basket for the past year but I finally gave in and added it to my cart - will keep you guys posted on this one as well.

The last thing was a sneaky little lip purchase. ILIA Beauty has been on my list for years and I honestly didn't even know where to start. I had seen a post on IG which featured the ILIA Satin Cream Lip Crayon in Tainted Love and it was absolutely gorrrrgeous. I pretty much decided I needed it to be mine and when the sale came around that's exactly what I snagged. I've yet to try this as I'm kind of waiting to treat myself to a special occasion to whip this baby out. I'm definitely going to need to do a beauty clearout soon so keep your eyes peeled for that post. I'll probably do a little IG story series documenting it more in depth so be sure to be following me over on Instagram

What are some bits that you picked up during the VIB sale? Is there anything you're hoping to score during Black Friday? What are your favorite places to shop for sales?
