Current Face Washes On Rotation
So it's been a many few months since I really posted much on my skincare routine. I've been rotating through a good few face cleansers, although most of them I reach for on a daily basis. I thought I'd do a quick run through on the products I've been reaching for and my thoughts on them!
As you can see I have a good handful of face cleansing products and for the most part these are all down to their bottom 1/3 of the product. There's a variety of different formulas but everything is quite happily meshing in my routine.
Every morning I reach for a combination of two cleansers: The REN Evercalm Gentle Cleansing Milk + the Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant* . I picked up the REN cleansing milk back in February from Cult Beauty (haul post here). It took a while for me to begin using it as I was focused on using up a Tata Harper cleanser, but for the last 3 months I've been using this one almost daily, and I'm about 3/4 of the way done. I like how gentle this one is and I love the smell that this one has - a bit calming and floral, not overly sweet or chemical. In an effort to use more products up in my stash, I've started mixing the Dermalogica Daily Superfoliant with the Cleansing Milk to give an added touch of exfoliation. I started off using this every other day but have worked my way up to every day - and since it's gentle my skin isn't irritated by it at all. I'm content with the Dermalogica exfoliant, although I'll admit that I'm partial to the Tatcha one. (Mostly for packaging reasons if anything.) The packaging on Dermalogica has a rather large opening so sometimes I pour out more than I wanted to. I'm thinking by the end of this month or next these should both be done.
In the evening I always go in with a double cleanse. I have a few that cleansers I've set aside and am focusing on finishing up these remaining 3. The Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser is a clear favorite of mine and one that I never want to be without - so much so that I have 2 backups in my stash as we speak + 1 at my boyfriend's place. (Remember to grab your own through my Glossier link + save 10% if it's also your first purchase!) This one is a gentle cleanser which feels so nice on the skin - it leaves my skin feeling clean without being stripped. It's also particularly nice to rub onto my face to remove most traces of makeup. This is one that people tend not to love at first but always grow to love - my tip would be to use it in the shower. Not sure why but it just works so much better! MJC can also easily be paired with an exfoliating powder like Dermalogica's or Tatcha's - win win. I also love the light rose scent that it leaves! I'll always follow up with a second cleanser, and have been switching between the Indie Lee Rosehip Cleanser and the BioClarity Cleanser*.
The Indie Lee skincare line is definitely one I want to delve more into. Indie Lee (the founder) is a cancer survivor and opted to create a line of products that work effectively and are safe for your body. This one hits close to home as cancer has infiltrated its way into my family - and has made me a bit more cautious of products I use myself. I mentioned this cleanser in my June Favorites (here) and I'll be sad to see this one go but probably won't repurchase until I use up the remaining 847284+ in my stash. But I am looking to add the Squalane Oil + Toner into my collection once the next Anthro sale rolls around! The BioClarity cleanser is one I was introduced to recently (review here) and is one that I tend not to reach for on the daily basis. I'm one of those people that goes with the flow and when I think I have a breakout on the verge of emerging, I'll go in with all my acne prevention skincare. (Whether or not that works I don't know/care, but mentally it makes me feel better and usually the outbreak isn't too bad.) Remember to score 50% off your first BioClarity month using the code 'CINDY'. I also left this cleanser at my boyfriend's place so that he can test out the whole regime - but I go there every day so I really just use it when I feel like I need it!
In the mindset of being more mindful about products I use, I'm trying to choose cruelty free products when and where I can. These brands are all CF so if that's something you're interested in, these are all great options :)
