Products for a Glowy + Dewy Base

I’m very fortunate to have brands frequently reach out to me send me skincare, but when brands reach out to send me makeup I’m a lot more hesitant. The main reason being that I go through makeup so so slowly and never feel like I can get good use out of them. I do wear a light amount of makeup every day, but I still feel like I go through products at a slower pace than others. I’m a lot more picky with the products I choose to invest in, and here are some that I’ve picked up myself (or repurchased) over the years.

I’m very fortunate to follow so many lovely people on Instagram that share all their great product recommendations with me. It’s been a minute since I last shared a makeup routine post so I thought I’d share a few of the products that made their way into my makeup bag over the last year:

  • Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer (Oil Free) | Shade: Bisque

    • This was popular in the YouTube community ~10 years ago and this honestly still stands as one of my favorite products. I used this for the better part of 2019 as my base product and loved how it gave enough coverage for redness/scarring but still lets natural freckles peep through. This never looks matte either and my skin still looks like my skin.

  • Milk Makeup Sunshine Skin Tint | Shade: Medium

    • One of my favorite discoveries in recent years had to be the Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint - it helped to balance out redness while letting your natural skin shine through. I know Glossier isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and when I saw some others talking about the Milk Makeup skin tint, I wanted to give it a try. I’ll say the one thing that irks me a bit about the product is the applicator - it’s a rolly-ball that distributes the product over your skin. Aside from that, I really do love how dewy this product is. It does make me a *tad* too shiny so I usually will powder a bit around my t-zone. I would say that this one has a bit more coverage than the Glossier one, but this is still a lighter option than a full on foundation.

  • Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter | Shade 2 - Light

    • This one is described as a peachy beige and I love how it brightens my complexion. This one is an interesting one as it can be used under makeup as a primer, on top of makeup as a highlighter, or mixed into your foundation for an added glow. Lately I’ve been wearing this one as a primer but also mixed in with my base product. I’ll usually put a few swipes of this on my cheeks, forehead, and chin before adding a few dots of the LM base around them before blending together with a brush. I would definitely recommend heading in stores first to

    • PSA that Charlotte Tilbury products tend to be cheaper on Net-A-Porter than Sephora/Nordstrom. They don’t always have all products in stock, but you can always add your email to be alerted when it does come back in stock.
