An Introduction to MISSHA’s New Red Algae Line
AD | This post is in paid partnership with MISSHA. All thoughts and opinions remain my own.
MISSHA has brought out a new range of products with 100% Irish Moss Extract, a type of Red Algae that is rich with antioxidants for distressed and dehydrated skin. The Red Algae line claims to strengthen the skin’s defense and acts as a powerful antioxidant to promote youthful and healthy skin. Irish Moss as an ingredient is anti-bacterial and anti-viral, which helps to protect your skin from environmental damages.
When I first got into skincare a little over five years ago, MISSHA was one of my first brand introductions into the the Korean Skincare sector. I’m excited to be partnering with them to share this new range with you all!
MISSHA was kind enough to send me their Time Revolution Red Algae Special Set II. Included in their set are full sizes of their essence, revitalizing lotion, and revitalizing cream. They also include some minis of the essence, revitalizing lotion, revitalizing cream, and their revitalizing serum. One particular reason why I love Korean Skincare is that it the products are usually lightweight and easy to layer, especially when you’re going for a multi-step routine.
Time Revolution Red Algae Treatment Essence (150 ml)
This has 100% un-diluted Irish Moss Extract.
I love essences and this one was amazing. It has a very watery texture but I could still feel the plumping effect. I would go in with 2-3 rounds of this by pouring a bit into my hands and patting it into my skin until it sank in.
This essence does have a bit of a red hue but it does not leave any color behind on your skin. This is also completely unscented so it’s perfect for those with sensitive skin.
Time Revolution Red Algae Revitalizing Lotion (130 ml)
This is infused with 50% Irish Moss extract and helps control the skin’s oil-moisture balance while working to help with the skin’s overall texture.
Some key ingredients in this that stood out to me: Niacinamide, Evening Primrose Oil, Hyaluronic Acid, Squalene
This was a lightweight texture that is more in line with a serum. It has a runny texture which is easy to layer in with other products in your routine.
I will say that this has fragrance and I could smell it while I was applying, but it wasn’t one to linger afterwards.
Time Revolution Red Algae Revitalizing Cream (50 ml)
This is infused with 50% Irish Moss Extract to help strengthen the skin’s natural barrier and retain moisture longer.
Some key ingredients in this that stood out to me: Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid, Ceramides
This was more of a gel-cream texture to me and I prefer to use this right now in my PM routine as it is a. warmer season. With the weather being warmer I prefer layering light layers like essence + serums + SPF for my AM routine.
This is a product that would definitely work for AM use during colder seasons. I usually enjoy these types of creams for colder seasons during the day when my skin is more dry and in need of that extra boost of hydration. I will say that this one is not a thick cream so if you have very dry skin, this alone will not be enough for you.
This product also has fragrance and again I could smell it while I was applying, but it wasn’t one to linger afterwards.
Overall this set is a great deal. The set is priced at $100 and you get 3 full-size products and 4 deluxe sample-size products. If you’ve been looking for an intro to K-Skincare and wanted something for an extra boost of hydration, this would be a great set to pick up.
