Is the Diptyque Advent Calendar Worth It?
Last year I splurged and treated myself to the Diptyque Advent Calendar. I had been debating on it for years and finally bit the bullet. I do feel like the quality of these has dropped in recent years with random days with ornaments and decorative items - honestly things I wouldn’t ever reach for.
Obviously the highlights of the calendar are the mini candle votives and mini perfumes. It looks like the advent calendar for this year is sold out, but there are some great alternatives out there (and honestly what I would pick up the next time I need to pick up more candles).
If candles are more your thing, Diptyque does have a box of 12 mini scented candles that you can buy to try an assortment of the fragrances. While small, I do find that Diptyque’s mini votives have the same scent kick as their full sizes. Obviously these smaller candles burn through pretty fast but it’s nice if you’re trying to figure out what scent you like before you splurge on a larger size. The mini votives also make for great little jars to store items around the house (I use them for bobby pins, toothpicks, matchsticks, etc.). If 12 candles seems too much for you, they do have a smaller box of 5 mini scented candles that features Diptyque’s core fragrances.
If fragrances are more your thing, you can get an assortment of 5 mini fragrances. This has a nice variety of scents and includes two of my all time favorites, Eau Rose + Do Son. These are perfect for throwing in your purse, keeping one at your desk at work, or even gifting to a friend. I do find these mini fragrances last me a while and again, are perfect for testing before you splurge on a full size.
Each holiday season, Diptyque brings out a range of holiday scented candles. This year there is a set that features three scents: Satin (pine tree); Neige (Snow); and Étincelles (Spark). Sapin smells like mountain pines; Neige smells like white musk; and Étincelles smells like fire, coffee, and chocolate.

The Advent Calendar was paid for with my own $. As always, all thoughts remain my own.
