Treat Yourself - #3
So a few cheeky little purchases occurred over the past few weeks. Excuse me while I try to contain my terrible shopping habits. One launch that I've been counting down the days to was the release of the the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipsticks in the U.S. Maybe it's all the crispy leaves that I've been stepping on and crunching every day, but I was feeling a dark berry lip. I ended up going for Glastonberry, and there are absolutely no regrets. The lipstick can apply unevenly at first, but I patted it in for a vampy, but wearable, everyday color. I'm wearing it for the first time and I can say that the formula really stays. It has survived it's first trial run which included lunch and tea - guys, it has been 8 hours and it is still going strong. I didn't even wear lip balm before this, and it isn't drying out my lips. Great stuff - well worth the price tag.
I've been eyeing the Hourglass blushes and powders for so long, and when I saw that they released a smaller version of the Ambient Lighting Powder I thought it would be the perfect time to pick it up. I'm still eyeing the holiday palette (that was just released), but this will do for now. Any thoughts on the palette which was released? I thought this mini size would be great to take when traveling! (Definitely brought this to Europe.) The smaller size is perfect for me, especially since it takes me forever to finish a beauty product up. Not to mention that I just have a soft spot for miniature versions of everything, so win-win. This is the shade dim light which is a sheer peachy finish, I've been wearing this for the past few days and it adds a subtle softness to your face. Definitely opted out of blush and bronzer and went for a more neutral look with this alone.
Fortunately, I have a friend who worked at Macy's that informed me of their Friends & Family sale, and she so kindly picked up two MAC lipsticks that I had been eyeing. This was basically a '2 for the price of 1' purchase, so there are really no regrets with this purchase. I picked up Ruby Woo (finally) and Peach Blossom! Ruby Woo really is as difficult to apply as people have mentioned, but it definitely gives off that vibe of classic pin-up beauty. Peach Blossom is a lovely neutral lip color and reminds me of a tackier version of the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Nude. I think I am good on MAC lipsticks for an extremely long time. So many other brands to try!
What are some of your recent purchases? Have you tried any of these products before?
