Favorite Little Things // October
So I skipped on favorites last month since I was traveling around Europe with a makeup bag with a limited number of products (See what I brought here!). I spent the first two or so weeks of the month really staying at home and recovering, and pretty much went sans makeup. I'm pretty sure my skin thanked me for it. I've been experimenting with some new skincare products, post to come, and have really just been enjoying putting makeup on with my whole collection available at my disposal.
With all the holiday sets and 20% offerings from Ulta and Sephora coming, I've tried to have a tight leash on my spendings so I could splurge for a little end of the year treat. I've been reaching for old favorites and have been rather content with my daily pickings. This month I tried something a little different with a Monthly Lipstick Wardrobe, where I keep track of all the lip varieties I've worn as an ode to my collection and a way to make good use of my products. Fall is finally apparent (it rained earlier this week in drought-ridden California, hallelujah!), and with it are extremely chapped lips. Although it's nothing Nuxe Reve de Miel can't tackle!
For foundation I've been loving the Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide, it's extremely lightweight and feels like second skin - no cakey, thick feeling here. For blush I've pulled out an old favorite, which is NARS Lovejoy. I've been going for a berry-gold vibe by pairing this with the highlight shade on the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow palette. I don't know if you can tell from the photo above, but I've finally started to make a dent in the highlight side.
Nails wise I've been fond of Essie After School Boy Blazer. To say I'm impressed with the wear of this color's particular formula is to say the least. I've been sick in bed this past week and my nails have grown out quite some bit, all with minimal chipping. I was so excited I had to point it out to my boyfriend, who responded with "Oh, that's good right?" ...boys. Anyways, the polish has been on for about 10 days and counting, and if I wasn't bothered by it growing out, I'd leave it on just for kicks. Butttt I can't, so off it will come right after I finish up this post.
