GRWM | Night Out in the City

I often joke with my friends that my boyfriend and I are old souls, as we would much rather stay in and play board games or watch shows. I've never been one to go out often, but I'll admit that I love getting ready for a night out. When I go out I don't do too more than my usual routine, the main thing I change is that I add on false lashes and curl my hair -  gotta get that extra va-va-voom oomph. This past Saturday was my oldest and bestest friend's birthday - we go way back to when we were wee little babies. She's one of the few friends I have that loves to wear makeup as well, so I can pile makeup on my face without feeling like the odd one out.

I reached for my NARS Sheer Glow Foundation since I've been seeing it on blogs everywhere - I have the shade Ceylan which is on the paler side, so I reserve this for use in the Fall and Winter (whatever that is in California). I have not been able to put down my Hourglass Ambient Light Edit Palette. Seriously guys, I think this may be my makeup soulmate. I really don't think it's overpriced for what it is, it's a wonderful way to try everything out. Right now I know that if I were to hit pan on Diffused Light & Mood Exposure, I would definitely go out and buy the full-size because I absolutely love them. I'm letting the others grow on me, but overall I have a love-love relationship with it all. Also been loving Becca's Pressed Powder in Moonstone - it adds a serious pack of glow to my face, I feel so shiny when I wear it. LUV IT. The NARS Yachiyo Brush is pretty much the best thing ever, other than my foundation brush this is the only other brush I've reached for. It gets the job done so well, so if you're looking to invest in a great all-around brush, this. is. the. one.

I opted for some Faux Lashes from Eyelure in No. 35 and successfully applied them with little struggle! I feel like I won the lottery, because usually I struggle and end up having a portion of it loose during my event. The birthday girl is usually my go-to person to apply lashes, so she joked that I did a good job on my own | :) |. I went for my usual cat eye and reached for my trusty Kat Von D Trooper Liner. This has slowly become my favorite liner, I definitely reach for it over its Stila counterpart. For my brows I pulled out an old favorite, the Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade. I feel like I can really pack this on for a bold brow, which is perfect for photos (no shame).

I went for a dark berry lip, because Fall, and opted for the Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Glastonberry. Since we were going to eat dinner I didn't want to risk it smudging all over my face (been there, done that), so I ended up patting it in on my lips for a stained effect.

All in all we had a fun night out in San Francisco and had dinner and went out for drinks at The View, which is a lounge on the 39th floor. Hello views of SF.

And here's a treat for ya guys (since I rarely post photos of myself) - a little OOTN with my BFF and BF. I'm a petite gal standing at 5'1" and I will almost always choose to wear flats - grandma life is real. Apologies for the blurriness - dim Italian restaurant for ya.

PS Fall/Winter in California is unreal - almost the end of November and it was 70F (or ~21C for those of you in other parts of the world) in the evening. I'm ruined - I will never be able to survive in other parts of the world that actually experience cold and snow.

Hope you're all having a wonderful week, and for those of you in the U.S., Happy (almost) Thanksgiving! Hope you have a wonderful time spent with your loved ones. I'll be busy eating 4, maybe 5, Thanksgiving dinners over the next 3 days. And allll the leftovers after that.
