Take 5 | Winter Face in Under 10 Minutes
The mornings have been dark and absolutely dreary as of late, and getting up in the 6AMs has definitely taken its toll on me. To stay in my bed with heated blanket longer, I've been going for a similar makeup look as of late and I've been finishing up in under 10 minutes. It's gotten to the point where my eyes on the daily are a standard cat eye look which takes me little to no time to achieve, and I've rotated in a few new products to finish the rest of my face.
I finally got my hands on some Glossier products and oh my goodness - the hype is so real. I purchased the Moisturizing Moon Mask (review soon to come!) and the Perfecting Skin Tint in the shade Medium. It truly feels like second skin and is so lightweight on the skin - I can definitely see this one becoming a firm favorite. I am fortunate to have well-behaved skin with minimal acne, and I love that this really lets freckles and everything that makes us human shine through. However it does help to minimize pores and keeps your skin feeling lightweight and able to breathe - both which are a huge plus! I do find that applying this with my hands is the best way to do it. With Winter my skin has been extremely oily but also lackluster. I've been combatting this by bringing out (and hopefully finishing up) my Bare Minerals Mineral Veil to combat extra oiliness in the T-Zone area. I've also been minorly obsessed with the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone. I picked this up back in November in a massive haul. I love dusting this on top of my cheekbones, down my nose, and really anywhere I feel I can get away with it. The combination of these and the Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint have had me feeling extremely happy in my own skin (but better).
Countering easy on the skin makeup I've been going a bit more bold with my brows and have been reaching again for the Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade. I love this stuff, and honestly don't believe I'll ever use it up. It'll probably dry out on me first because there's so much product! These have been great for framing my face, yet providing a bold but natural look.
Last up and a definite firm favorite has got to be the NARS Matte Lip Pencil in Walkyrie. This is perfection. I've worn it so much lately that I could probably already sharpen it. And it's barely been a week. I loved it so much I snapchatted it to my friends and demanded they get it - and one has already ordered it! It is described as a Warm Coral Red but I find that it has more of a burnt orange-red vibe. It's a great everyday color and is a great alternative to the bold and bright reds for the holiday. It also wears well and fades nicely on the lips - great for those that can't be bothered for re-application (aka me). Summary - this lip color is bomb and you should get it too.
This has been quite a long rant, thank you for making it through if you have! I can't believe that Christmas will be here next week, I'm so excited to have a few days off for the holidays and will be photographing and writing like a mad woman to get up all the end-of-the-year/seasonal posts I *hope* to get up before 2015 folds.
What are some bits you love reaching for to get ready quickly?
