This or That | Nude/Taupe Liquid Lipsticks

Dupes dupes dupes - everyone loves a good dupe. I've got three liquid lipsticks for you that are similar in shade but different in price, quality, and formula. A few weeks back I had done a post on a recent addition to my lipstick collection, and those were the liquid lipsticks from Kylie Cosmetics. As much of a fan as I am of the lipstick, I couldn't help but look through my stash as the shades clearly reminded me of ones that I already owned. I obviously have a clear taste in lipstick shades as I was easily able to come across some similar shades. Those are the nude / taupe shades - 90's lipsticks still working in full force in my collection.

KAT VON D - BOW N' ARROW | $20
Fawn Nude

KYLIE COSMETICS - DOLCE K | $17
Deep Beige Nude

COLOURPOP - BEEPER | $6
Mid-Tone Taupe

As you can see in the swatches to the left, they are slightly different but on the lips they are very similar. They all appear a tad darker on my lips than in the swatches, but it's that wearable nude that can be worn casually, to work, or for a night out.

Bow n' Arrow and Dolce K are near dupes of one another, and Beeper is slightly darker. Keep reading to see the differences in formula and accessibility for purchasing.

My all time favorite liquid lipstick formula has to be the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks. At $20 a pop they are the priciest of the bunch, but for us U.S. gals it's easy to get a hold of at Sephora. I do know girls around the world are able to order them and I heard that they'll soon be available in Europe/UK. There's a wire array of shades so you're bound to find one you like. These are also cruelty free so double thumbs up for that! These do come in mini duo sets which are perfect as you'll actually realistically be able to finish the products. I picked up the Lolita / Lolita II duo last year (haul HERE) and am hoping they bring that back so everyone can test those infamous lipsticks out.

The Kylie Cosmetics liquid lipstick was surprising - in a good way. The formula is unlike any other that I've tried, it's extremely comfortable on the lips and is nearly undetectable on the lips. When you smack your lips together you won't get any product sticking from top lip to bottom lip. Accessibility wise, these are rather difficult to get a hold of - especially new colors (which sell out instantly). The shipping for these is rather steep and unless you're purchasing a lot, makes the cost of these much higher than normal. I did have a few issues with the company itself, but you can read about it in my last post HERE.

Last up are my least favorite of the bunch, ColourPop. I'll give it to CP on price, you can't beat it. There's a huge variety of colors and I'd say if you wanted a fun color (metallic, black, bright green, bright blue, etc.), these would be the ones to buy. Comfort wise these are rather terrible. They're extremely drying on the lips and my lips require a deep scrub and thick layer of Nuxe Reve de Miel after to bring them back to life. I also find that some darker shades tend to bleed out rather easily, which makes these a pain to wear. Who needs long lasting lipstick smudged outside of your lip line? Definitely not me. CP is also now shipping internationally which makes it a lot more easily accessible to the rest of the world. There's a little bit of everything so meeting the minimum requirement for free shipping isn't too difficult.

What are some of your favorite liquid lipstick dupes? Are you a fan of the taupe/nude shades?
