Makeup Edit | Current Everyday Face S/S17
Following my post on my current everyday base for a dewy glow (here), I thought I'd share all the products I've been slathering on my face. Ever since I got lash extensions about about a month ago, I've discovered a much longer morning as there was little I felt had to be done to my skin. I'm getting my fills in this week, but I'm thinking sometime next month I'll do a post on my thoughts / experience with them. (Edit: TBH I drafted this post right before I left for my trip mid/end of May, but everything I've mentioned is still on rotation in my stash.)
So of course I'm using the products I mentioned in my dewy base glow, but if you haven't read it I've been reaching for 3 products almost daily:
+ Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation
+ Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint
+ Marc Jacobs Beauty Dew Drops* (Sometimes I'll alternate with the MECCA Cosmetica)
These provide a healthy and glowy base which is perfect for this warm weather season that is upon us. If I need a little extra coverage I'll go in with my Glossier Stretch Concealer in Medium - this stuff is the best and possibly only other concealer I'll need in my life. On extra good skin days I've just been popping this on over a little redness and calling it a day.
On the cheeks I've been opting for a dewier glow. I've been alternating between my Glossier Haloscopes and my Pixi x Aspyn Ovard highlight powder in London Lustre, but have put all of these on the backburner as I now have the MILK Makeup Holographic Stick in Mars, which is a golden peach highlight. It's a rosy/pearly/holographic sheen which makes me feel so glowy - and dare I say fairy like? Paired with the wispy lashes that's pretty much all I've been feeling. When I want something a little bit extra (which is a lot of the time), I'll reach for a Glossier Cloud Paint* (post here). My favorite of choice has got to be Dusk, but Beam/Puff come in as close seconds, and Haze is that choice for when I'm feeling bold. I used to apply these with my fingers, but for a quicker on-the-go look that takes minimal effort, I've been using a stippling brush to help blend everything out effortlessly. A+ from me!
I've been using my Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder for a good few months now, but decided to give the Soap & Glory One Heck of a Blot Powder another go as so many people speak so highly of it. I tried it last year when I picked it up but I felt like my skin got oily really fast after wearing it. I've been using it for over a week and so far so good! Fingers crossed I'll be able to pan this product this year (ahem, wishful thinking).
On the brows I've been reaching back for my ABH Brow Powder Duo. Over the past year I've really reverted back to brow powders and have steered clear of brow pencils - I just find it so much easier and quicker to apply. A quick brush through with the powder and then I'll go in with my Glossier Boy Brow to set it. Depending how natural or bold I want my look to be, I'll alternate between BB Clear* and BB Brown. Since I'm growing out my balayaged hair and going back to my dark roots I thought it was about high time I add BB Black to my ever growing Glossier fam.
On the lips I've honestly just been super lazy. I haven't really been wearing lipsticks (although I have a million and one) and have just been going for balms and glosses. While I sometimes reach for my Generation G lippies, a good old balm is good enough for me. Low maintenance has taken on a whole new level. A new bit that has entered my beauty life is the IPKN Twinkle Lip in N1 - Glow Pink*. For $18, this one is a great dupe for the Dior Lip Glow in Pink, which retails for $33. I actually think this one does a fab job of giving me that rosy pink lip. It also smells like strawberries so win-win for me.
Every time I feel like my makeup routine is low maintenance and then I see a photo of just how many products I slather onto my face haha. A lot of effort goes into that "no-makeup makeup look."
What are some products that you've been reaching for on a day to day basis?

Just a quick note that I knooow I've been MIA for the last month +. A lot of crazy stuff happened within my family back in March and it's still something I'm learning to live and deal with. I probably won't be writing about it in this space but I'm thinking I'll do a little catch up/life lately post to catch you all up. And if you didn't know - I got a pup back at the beginning of March and he's basically taken over my life - so if you guys want a post on anything related to him let me know. / / As you know I went on a trip to Asia recently so I do have some travel posts in the works - and my boyfriend and I did vlog sooo *maybe* I'll try and actually edit it for you all :) / / I've had a lot of posts that I've been working on drafting over the last 3ish months but just never had the time/energy/drive to finalize and post. I'm slowly cranking them out so please bear with me while I get that all sorted out. Because I blog and so many of you read my blog, I'm fortunate enough to receive a good number of products to test. I know a lot of posts I have drafted are of gifted products but know that I would never talk about a product I didn't fully like/love! I'm getting back into the swing of things so hopefully we get back into a nice routine of regular posting. If you have any post suggestions/requests, please do send them my way! I've missed you all and I can't wait to be back!
