Loving Lately | June / Half Year Edit
I've gone through this entire year without favorites and I think that was both a good and a bad thing. I had meant to do a sort of quarterly favorites but that just didn't happen. Initially I had decided not to continue on with favorites posts as I felt pressured to find new things that I was loving - even if I had gotten into a nice grind and routine with the same few products. You can probably tell which products I've been loving lately from my recent Makeup Post + Empties Post. However, I do feel like it's been a while (and a while sans blogging) so I'm sure there are new bits I've been using that have yet to be mentioned in this space. Let's get into this!
Indie Lee Rosehip Cleanser | I'm not sure if you can tell by how much of this is gone, but I've been loving this cleanser. I picked up a few bits from Anthropologie's beauty section during a sale back in early Spring - but with my blogging break that post never quite came to see the day of light. In that little haul was this glorious pink bottle - definitely a purchase highly influenced by Adri (@sortofobsessed). This one is a good cleanser that I like to use as part of a double cleanse and have ben using this one almost daily for the past few months. A little goes a long way as this one suds up a lot. I know, I know - suds up? That means it's drying right? Nooope. This one just leaves your skin feeling clean and never stripped.
Herbivore Coco Rose Coconut Oil Body Polish | I'm trying to be better about taking care of my body, both internally and externally. I neglect a lot of my skin (what kind of beauty blogger am I?!) and I'm trying to be better by regularly exfoliating my skin and moisturizing more. This was one that's been on my list for a while and I finally picked it up as a little pre-birthday treat to myself. It smells lightly of coconut (more like coconut milk) and is dry and gritty yet effective. It has coconut oil so it does leave your skin a bit oily, but not so much that it feels dirty or gross. This is a luxe one that I've been enjoying reaching for. I like to pamper myself to use this all over my body once a week - typically on weekends!
Kypris Antioxidant Dew | I picked this up from Cult Beauty a few months back (read my post here on tips to find products cheaper if you live in the U.S.). Luckily this is also available at Anthropologie who often have 20% off sales - so keep your eyes peeled for those too! This stuff is lightweight goodness and in short, it keeps the good stuff in and the bad stuff out. This little bottle contains a product that easily soaks into your skin without leaving it heavy or oily, and has tons of revitalizing ingredients while also helping to keep pollutants out of your skin - which help slow down the dreadful process of aging our skins are so prone to. If you have any product suggestions from Kypris, please let me know! I'm all ears.
Drunk Elephant TLC Framboos Glycolic Acid | Hello magic in a bottle. Of all the DE products I've tried, this has been my favorite by far. Mixed with the products I've had in my current routine, I've been left with skin that is glowing. This little mini has lasted me a month + of use every other day / every three days. I'll definitely be picking up the full size of this when I run out. Remember that you can save 20% off your first order from the DE website here (and I'll receive $20 on my next order!).
The Ordinary 100% Plant Based Squalane | My mom's skin has been extremely dry as of late so I gave her my Cold-Pressed Rosehip Oil and decided it was time to crack open my Squalane oil. I've been alternating this with some other oils in my skincare collection that I'm working on using up, and I've particularly been loving this! I think it just pairs well with other products I've been reaching for and my skin is just soaking it in. I have a whole post on The Ordinary products I've been testing so stay tuned!
Glossier Invisible Shield *| This is a chemical sunscreen that I've been using on and off over the last two months. At first I wasn't too thrilled with the size, but for the amount of times I've used this I'd say that this one goes a long way. I don't particularly like a lot of heavy products on my skin so I try to use as light of a layer of products as I can. I find I can usually get away with 2-3 pumps of product each morning to cover my face and neck. This one has a light sunscreen scent with a touch of citrus, which has been quite refreshing over the last few weeks. And the cool gel texture was the perfect compliment to my skincare routine for all the hot hot days we've been having lately. I ordered myself a backup already and luckily enough just won another one in a giveaway! So I'm thinking I may give away the one I purchased in a giveaway of my own - stay tuned ;) [And if you can't wait, snag yours through my Glossier link!] Read a more in-depth review here.
O.R.G. Skincare Mineral Peel Face * | This. Stuff. Is. Incredible!! I've tried products like this before but they just left my skin feeling sticky? I'm not sure how to describe it. Exfoliating products can be harsh and my skin easily gets irritated. I try to steer clear of heavy exfoliants these days, but it doesn't mean I don't like a nice face peel of some sort. I was kindly sent this to test out and I'm honestly in love with the stuff - they have a body version which I am dying to try. The one thing I don't love is that this is in a spray nozzle - which I for one am terrified of getting in my eyes. I tend to just spray this on my fingertips and quickly dab / spread it across my face. Within a few seconds it's ready to be rubbed into your skin to which you'll find little rolls of dead skin (pleasant, I know). I haven't stopped using this since I got it, and I honestly don't intend to stop. Highly highly recommend!!
Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist | I've been using this beautiful little mist for a while now and I am completely smitten! I tried one of the Pixi mists a long while back and was not a fan - I remember my nozzle being a bit defective and shooting out a harsh stream of product. This one does exactly what it says and provides a nice light mist! This one smells nice and calming and leaves my skin feeling so soft and refreshed. It's also a nice compliment to the hot weather to leave my skin feeling revived. I've been using it both in the morning and at night once I'm done with my skincare routine.
BioClarity Restore Gel (Step 3) *| As I mentioned in my BioClarity post from last Thursday (here), this Restore Gel was my favorite of the entire routine. It's cooling and helps to reduce redness. Something that my skin struggles with a lot. One pump is usually good enough for me and something I enjoy reaching for! In conjunction with many of the products listed above, my skin's appearance has vastly improved! (I totally had to get my boyfriend to bring this stuff back to my house so I could photograph it - he's my guinea pig and he's been testing out the BioClarity trio).
There's a lotttt of skincare posts that will probably go up over the next few weeks/months because I am a hoarder and obsessed with trying new things. What are some products that you've been loving lately?
