August // Favorite Little Things
Where did August go? It is insane that this time next week I will be setting foot for the first time ever in Europe and galavanting around Paris. To say the least, I am stoked.
I've been quite straightforward with my makeup this past month, going for liner, highlighter, and a lip product. I've been putting in a lot of hours with work to make up for being out of the office for my trip, and I could not be bothered with my makeup. As a means to use up makeup products, I've reached back for an old favorite liner - the Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Eye Pencil in Coffee. This stuff is great for smudging into your lash line, giving a dark-brown-almost-black line. If you're looking for a great dark brown liner, look no further.
On my cheeks I've been using the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow Palette. Specifically the glow side. Perhaps it is all the strobing craze going around, but I've always been a fan of putting a glowy product on the tops of my cheekbones. Last month it was the Bare Minerals Clear Radiance, other times the Urban Decay Naked Flushed palette in Streak, and the CT palette when I feel like giving myself an extra treat.
I've been reaching for 2 lip products this past month, one neutral and one bright. The weather has been rather emotional as of late, giving us cooler gloomy days, muggy humid days, and sunny burning hot days. On the warmer days I instantly reached for the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Nude, which has not left my handbag since I purchased it. It's a lovely peachy lip balm that is great for everyday wear, not to mention moisturizing so you're left with soft lips.
With the leaves beginning to fall for Autumn, and the strange warm weather, the leaves have crisped to a rather nice crunch. My coworkers can vouch for my stepping on every.single.crunchy.leaf on our way to lunch. This has put me in such a berry-filled mood and I've been reaching for the TopShop lipstick in The Damned. The color is a beautiful fuchsia, it's great for brightening the complexion and adding a fun pop of color to the face. This is an old favorite which I guiltily have not worn enough of lately. I think the last time I pulled this out to wear was Christmas 2014. Whoops. I've been wearing this patted in to my lips several times in the past few weeks. A quick layer of lip balm (Nuxe Reve de Miel) beforehand is good enough to keep this lipstick looking great all day. After the lipstick fades away, I'm left with a nice berry stained lip.
Last on the list is my trusty Aesop Resurrection Hand Balm. My hands have been overly dry lately, and I've been re-applying this stuff throughout the day. It leaves a lovely refreshing zing, and keeps my hands moisturized without being overly oily. This is a second monthly favorites feature, the first one back from my March Monthly Favorites. This just goes to show that this stuff is great to use year round, and a little truly goes a long way.
What are some products that you've been loving lately?
